We ask
Your host
Jonas Berglund bought the Moss House as a ruin in 2014 and rebuilt it with a neighbour over two summers. The other five followed, each within a day's drive. Jonas answers every message, meets the boat to the Island Cabin and clears the Abisko road before you arrive.

“If snow closes the road, that night is not charged, and I call you before you set out.”
The local guide
Printed in each cabin, with the numbers of the people we trust for dogs, boats and guiding.
Late August to March · cabin 4
Clear nights after 21:00. We text when the forecast is strong; the villa has a window facing north.
Mid September · cabin 2
Two weeks of birch and dwarf willow in colour. Take the chairlift and walk down.
September and October · cabin 3
Seven kilometres to the cleft in the rock and back. Boots, not trainers.
From early September · all cabins
Wear the orange vest from the hall cupboard on forest walks. Trails stay open.
First week of February · cabin 6
Held since 1605: reindeer races, crafts and a full town. Book the Log House early.
December to April · cabin 1
Sledding with a musher 12 km from the Moss House, €160 a person with lunch.
Mid December · cabin 4
The sun stays below the Abisko hills for three weeks. The light at noon is blue.
February and March · cabin 5
Natural ice between islands when the ice club says it holds. Skates are in the shed.
June and early July · cabin 4
Sun all night from late May. Blackout blinds in every bedroom, eye masks in the drawer.
June to September · cabin 4
It starts 800 metres from the villa. Walk the first day to Abiskojaure and back.
Late July to August · cabin 1
The bog behind the Moss House. Pick into the tin bucket and the jam recipe is on the door.
June and July · all cabins
Real, and worst at dusk. Nets on every window, repellent by the door, the sauna smoke helps.

Reviews are asked for the day after check-out, and every one is published on the cabin's page.
“We saw the lights on the second night from the hot tub. Jonas had texted at 21:10 to say look north.”
“The road to the Moss House was closed by snow. The night was refunded before we had even asked.”
“The boat met us at the pier with a flask of coffee. Three days and we saw one other person.”
Questions
Jonas answers on +46 70 555 31 88, by text or call, from 07:00 to 23:00.
Free until 30 days before arrival. After that half the stay is refunded, and all of it if we can rebook the nights. A night lost to a closed road is always refunded.
Yes, on winter tyres, which Swedish law requires from 1 December to 31 March. Every road is ploughed; the last 2 km to the Snow Villa are cleared by us before you arrive.
No one can promise them. From September to March, three clear nights in Abisko give most guests at least one sighting, and we text when the forecast is strong.
In five cabins, fast enough for a video call. The Island Cabin runs on solar power and has none, on purpose, but the phone signal reaches the jetty.
To the Moss House and the Log House, for €30 a stay. Both have a fenced yard, and reindeer graze nearby, so dogs stay on a lead outside it.
Message the host
Jonas keeps a few winter nights back for families and friends travelling together, and for stays longer than two weeks. Tell him where and when, and he writes back with what he can hold.
Autumn and winter 2026 to 2027 are open
